Coming Home quilt finish

A finish! Or at least mostly. I still need to work in thread ends and make a label. But I wanted to lay it out and check that I hadn’t missed any spots. This is the Coming Home quilt by Sarah Fielke, released as a block of the month. I liked the cute houses and […]

Christmas in July (TGIFF)

Welcome to TGIFF for July 22! How are you all doing this fine (muggy and hot) July day! Ready to talk about cooler weather, when a nice quilt is needed to snuggle in front of a fire, cup of hot chocolate (with marshmallows of course) in hand? You know I love a good quilt along, […]

Postcards not Perfection

This is a post to share my mostly finished Postcard from Sweden quilt, joining Sandra at mmmquilts for the link up!  Not perfect because it’s not finished and some of the swoops are a little more swoopy than others (my ruler foot did not like the lumps where many triangles joined).   I don’t do a […]

Another Quilt Along

Yes, I’m in again.  Sandra from mmmquilts put out the call for a Postcard from Sweden quilt along.  I dug through my  computer files to confirm I had a copy of the pattern, and got started.  I don’t know why I started at the bottom–I have these 6 rows down and the rest of the […]

Morewood mystery

At least the top is done. To make it twin size, I added a top and bottom border (deliberately sized larger than in the body) of the arrow and diamond design. I would like to get this quilted before fall. Linking up to the quilt parade at Meadow Mist Designs.

Summer Sampler (TGIFF)

It’s a truth, that I do most of my quilting (as opposed to piecing) in the winter. I started quilting this one last winter, only to put it aside for other projects after we went into Covid lockdown. For a change, I started with the background, and I was very happy with the cone of […]

My Q4 Goals list

The Finish A Long is still on hiatus, but looking forward to a New Year’s Eve sew-in ( now that’s my kind of party) and picking things back up for 2021. (visit them on Instagram @finishalong) I finished exactly zero of my goals for the quarter. I did start some new socks in May so […]

Slow stitching

When it’s cold outside (-15 C ), it’s the perfect time to be sitting on the sofa under my Starbright quilt. I realized that the only time I was hand quilting it was on visits to the cottage, so this winter I put it beside the sofa and have continued to progress. I am using […]

Paper piecing

I decided to pull out my #glampstitchalot2015 quilt and continue the paper piecing round. I’m using turquoise and green for the arrows and black and white or gray and white for the background pieces. The sections finish at 6″ high and I’ll be spacing them out with 3″ x 6″ strips. The current top is […]

Quilting hugs and kisses

Welcome to TGIFF and a finish for me that has been a long time coming. The Tic Tac Toe blocks were made by my bee-mates in the 2015 version of the Canadians Quilt Bee, from this pattern by Blossom Heart Quilts. I continued my free motion quilting practice following along the #freemotionchallenge by Angela Walters. […]
