Stocking up (Sunday Stash)

Not that I was running out or anything, but two visits to two different Fabricland locations netted a nice assortment of fabric. Firstly the Oshawa location with some colourful half metre cuts. I felt the need to add more prints with multi colours, and the seahorses (Under the Sea by Jo Lynch) looked usable even if not my normal style. The flying geese print from Michael Miller is a potential binding, and the butterflies and damask (Garden of Earthly Delights) just because.

Last week, I was at the Pickering store, and who was I to resist $6 per metre? Seriously, Carkai by Carolyn Friedlander? 5 m of the grey, 1/2 m of the bone, then 1/2 m of the green bamboo (Chinoiserie Chic by Dena Designs) and 1 m of each of the blues (Hadley by Denise Schmidt and Colorbrigade by Jennifer Paganelli). Don’t worry, I’ll use them one day.

Hands down, my fabourite designers are Alison Glass and Carolyn Friedlander for blenders, and Anna Maria Horner for colourful prints. Linking up to Main Crush Monday with Cooking up Quilts.

  1. Nice material for your stash! I went to Fabricville last week, looking for reds and found all kinds…like I need more material but I am low on reds ;). I like the idea of using those chevrons for binding.

    1. Fortunately fabric doesn’t go bad!

  2. OOOHH!!! Pretty! I never find goodies like this! I must be shopping at the wrong Fabricland… Plus, I have 2 quilt shops closer to me than Fabricland. I can always use the excuse that fabric is cheaper than insulation, and my sewing room is always cold.

    1. Great excuse with this weather!

  3. All great fabrics, but that Michael Miller print….oh my….it’s awesome!

    1. Now to finish a quilt to use it on!

  4. You’ve got some nice blues going on here! It’s always fun to find a bargain! I agree with Anja, that Michael Miller fabric is awesome! I am going to look for some.
