Binding Choice

I usually pick out the binding fabrics after I’ve done the quilting. Sometimes I use the leftovers from the backing. More often I find something in my stash that compliments the front. Scrappy bindings are good because I don’t need to use 3/4 of a yard.

For the tulip applique quilt, the pink and red tulips are the strongest, so I found this Freespirit fabric from a Craftsy stash box. The stripes run parallel to the selvedge in just the right tone of grayish green. It’s a pretty good match for the backing (the lighter pink) too.

It’s a holiday Monday here in Ontario, so you know where I’ll be…
