A Beachy Bag Finish-a-Long

With millions of people around the world hunkered down in social distancing, I expect this will be a fantastic quarter for finishes in the Finish-a-Long. My week at work was crazy busy getting people started on assignments from their homes and trying to come up with some kind of schedule for myself. In between all of that, I managed to get the handles sewn onto this cotton bag.

I started this last summer with no other aim than using up some miscellaneous cotton yarn in cteam, white, and beige. A search on Ravelry gave me the Not a Sandy Bottom bag from Dorothy Dean. I used it as a template but changed the lace panel to something more friendly to knitting in the round and added some height.

I am surprised at how much it holds (y’all just pretend that is sand, not snow) with a book, water bottle, and towel fitting easily. This was a goal on my Q1 Finish-a-Long list (note, finishes are being tracked on instagram but I like the search ability of the blog).

  1. Hi Lisa! I can easily imagine that is sand and not snow, and it’s a nifty bag. It will be very handy in a few short months. ~smile~ Roseanne
