Here I am, plugging away on my Good Fortune quilt. Despite having all of the units made, making the blocks feels like it is taking forever. Today I laid out what I had to try to come up with an alternate arrangement to make it a bit bigger. The winner? a double 9-patch. Here is the first of my 5 pieced sections.
I’ll have to see what I have to use in the negative space, perhaps a blue solid? But I figure this will give me an 88″ square quilt which is a nice queen size. Other options were a medallion style, in one case clustering the same blocks together instead of A-B.
The good news is that I don’t have to make any more blocks, I really wasn’t keen on going and making another 20 or 30 with these tiny (for me) pieces. I will have to make a few more border pieces though.
Did you vote for me in the PQ 10.2 challenge? What?! Well, go take a look right now! (I’m #85). Lisa, by the way did you get On Ringo Lake quilted this month? (looks away and whistles) Well, I have been kind of busy…
It’s -17 C today, a good day to stay home and sew. Stay warm and keep on stitching!
