My favourite quilt this year

And I’m not trying to be teacher’s pet, honest. But this has to be my favourite quilt that I made this year.  This post is to join in with the Blogger’s Quilt Festival over at Amy’s Creative Side.

The #comfortquilt I made during the quilt along (thanks Amy!) this spring is scrappy and cozy and the warm low volume prints really make it feel like an heirloom.

I originally was planning a rainbow layout but after making many blocks from my scrap bin, realized that I didn’t have enough of some colours. So random it was. I love this shot of the back with the light shining through it.

It was well appreciated by the new parents and I hope it’s getting lots of chewy spitty love from the baby.

Here’s a better photo of the sweet prints I used to back and bind it.

I love this nice modern colorful quilt. Great Job. I sew on a Pfaff too! ha

    1. I bought the Pfaff for the extension table…but seriously, it makes quilting a lot of fun!

  2. The floral binding was perfect to tie all the colors together. Lovely job!

    1. By the time I was on the binding, I knew I wanted it for the baby girl, so a flowery finish seemed only right! I don’t like baby quilts to be pastel playful giraffes and monkeys, but something that is sweet and lovely.

  5. I like your use of the low volume background. Nice job!

    1. Thanks, it is a really fun quilt to piece and the background sections–where I used the neutral butterfly print–help to emphasize the blocks

  6. Plus quilts are still “in fashion” I see. The colors are pretty and you did a great job piecing the blocks. Visiting from Amy’s Blogger Quilt Festival
