It’s summer, which means a well laid out plan of camps (including Camp Grandma) for the short person and a busy time at work for my husband and me due to other people’s vacations. I haven’t done much sewing this week due to the hot and sticky weather–our home air conditioning was broken last year too, but last year it didn’t really matter this year I have ordered a new system but the install is still to come.

It’s easy to get out of the habit of blogging-I like the spontaneity of Instagram but I wouldn’t want to give up the story arc of a blog post. But dedicating one or two evenings a week to downloading (from my camera) and uploading photos lacks appeal. So what I’m saying is that while I would like to publish 3 times per week and link up to the linky party on the actual day, I’m not going to do that. Because that would make blogging feel too much like work. So stick around for random updates on my projects and life.

I did finish my 4th mandolin quilt block, and promptly cut out a 5th, despite having told myself that I would think about stopping at 4. Block #4 has a softer pink vibe than some of the others, but in the spirit of scrappiness, I’m saying that it works. Many of my green fabrics are too yellowish to blend with the pinks, so I’m going to have to start reusing some of my prints–combined differently of course.

4 mandolin quilt blocks done

Possibly adding some links. And possibly drinking some wine. But very definitely getting off the computer and going outside to enjoy the cooler evening.

Your blocks look great. I think slowing down in the summer is just fine. We need to enjoy this great weather while it’s here.
