My favourite makes for 2017

Last year, I made a list of my top 5 projects, so I though I should do the same this year. Some of these were high visit posts–and some were not, but nevertheless are my favourite makes from the year.

Quilt finish

Hands down, my Modern Butterfly quilt finished in May. Right now draped across the sofa ready for snuggling. I like that the back is as interesting as the front.

Pillow finish

The walleye pillow I made for my husband’s birthday was a lot of fun to make, and since it lives in the bedroom, I get to enjoy it every day too.

Bag or tote finish

Hey, how about my lunchbag that I use every day! The laminate lining is super, and I’ve figured out the most efficient way to pack my various containers.

Non-quilted finish

Oops, not too many of those. Let’s revisit the Slow & Steady shorts I made for my daughter this summer. I sure hope these will fit for another year.

Rainbow finish
While not a complete rainbow, I was really pleased with how my quilt for the #bigquiltbee turned out. I hope it is bringing joy to someone this holiday season.

You have included a great variety of lovely finishes here Lisa. Love the butterflies and who can resist a rainbow? Not me for sure. But my favourite just has to be your pillow. I just love the overall design and colour contrast set off by the perfect quilting design, so clever. Wishing you a very Happy New Year, with many more wonderful quilty finishes.

  5. Your butterfly quilt is so pretty! The walleye makes me smile.

    1. I really enjoyed making the walleye pillow. I don’t like applique that is folk artsy, so this more modern and realistic version was great to practice turning my vision into reality.
