Or perhaps we should call it a meeting of Startitus-Anonymous. Like many of you, I have been guilty of starting too many projects, lured by the pretty fabric and fun Linky parties. So on my to-do list for this year is finishing up some current projects.
Let me start by stating I have fallen slightly off track (of my no quilt-along pledge) by signing up for the next fabric challenge with the Modern Quilt Guild. I have a good stash of Violet Craft prints from Michael Miller, so I think I will add some of those. I am currently thinking of making a baby quilt with lots of negative space to practice free-motion quilting. I like the idea of using these challenges to expand my skill set as a sewist and quilter. I have started a Pinterest board–Do you have any suggestions for easy piecing patterns?
Secondly I did manage to finish my Massive tote on time for the previous MQG challenge, which I have realized is one of my finish-a-long for Q1 of 2014. Just for fun, I persuaded my daughter to climb in.
Thirdly, and on my to-do list for this week, is the Easy Street quilt top (go here to see some finished examples). I have finished the B blocks (6), and need to make 7 more A blocks (of 12), and 6 more setting triangles (of 10). I would like to get these blocks done this week, unfortunately I realized I need another 50 four-patches first, although I have most of the other units done.
I started following another MQG individual member this week, and Christine at Red’s Needles and Thread is starting a fun Linky called To-do Tuesday, so I am linking to that as well as Fabric Tuesday with Quilt Story.
See you at the linky parties!
We all certainly have UFO’s to finish. It does feel good when you get one done. Enjoy your blog
I loved seeing your super tote on the MQG site, but didn’t realize how SUPER big it was!! What a cute picture too!
Looking at the time between now and summer, I realized I wouldn’t be able to get the Michael Miller challenge completed. So I’m skipping that one this time around. Boo! I’ll catch the next one though!
What a great To-Do list for the week! I am so happy you linked up! Thank you!! Happy sewing… 🙂
We loaded it up with books and toys on the weekend, and it worked fantastic! Of course, now I may need to make another for my stuff…
Oh please please please finish your wonderful vintage feeling Easy Street. I am dying to see it all done. It looks so charming.
I love how the colours worked out (considering it was a mystery) and I already have the backing and batting, so I intend to stick with this until it’s done! On 2014-02-19 4:53 PM, “Lisa in Port Hope” wrote:
